Ran across this the other day and thought I’d share since there’s not much else to talk about.
Drive Smart Virginia is a non-profit organization charged with raising awareness and changing behavior in order to improve the safety of the roadways of the Commonwealth. Addressing distracted driving is a major issue on their agenda.

Darlene Wells is executive vice president and general manager of Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co. VFBMIC is a founding member of Drive Smart Virginia. Darlene Wells serves on the organization’s board of directors. VFBMIC’s reach is limited to Virginia; however, they do offer auto and commercial vehicle insurance.

Drive Smart Virginia is holding a Distracted Driving Summit on September 25-26, 2019. State Farm Insurance, Columbia Gas of Virginia, and VADA (Virginia Automobile Dealers Association) are early sign-up sponsors and will be attending the Summit.

A bronze Sponsorship of $1000.00 offers 2 complimentary registrations to the Summit, 1 complimentary exhibit space, sponsor recognition on Summit signage, Logo and website link will appear on Summit webpage and in Summit announcements, and logo in Summit program.
In addition, they offer full page advertisement in program for $750.00, half page $500, quarter page $250.00.
So, for $1,250.00 plus travel and accommodations, Berman could get Cogosense some recognition with a quarter page ad in the program, have an exhibit space, create ties with a non-profit that was in part started by an insurance company, and have a meet and greet with the Virginia Automobile Dealers Association, Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co., and everyone else who attends. The Summit is only two days long and located just 450 miles from New York City. Not exactly a burdensome trip.
I understand that Drive Smart Virginia may seem limited and small scale; however, there are some benefits. Virginia has 459 new car dealerships. The 5 largest auto groups range from 24 to 15 dealerships; accounting for 97 dealerships. That leave 362 dealerships in smaller auto groups; some with only 2 or 3 dealerships in their group. With Virginia Automobile Dealers Association as an active member at the Summit, contact with them could give access to all Virginia auto groups; large and small.
Virginia is ranked 12th in number of registered drivers; 5,926,430. Also, the average age of registered vehicles in Virginia is 11.8 years. So, there is a large population of drivers to market Cogosense products to, and with the high average age of vehicles registered, increased new vehicle sales is almost guaranteed.
Lastly, efforts made in Virginia could flow over into Maryland and North Carolina. North Carolina is ranked 11th in number of registered drivers; one spot ahead of Virginia.
