Eternity/Infinity Concepts beyond the realm of human understanding. If they were understood, there would be no crime, hate, or major evil doing for who would jeopardize the threat of eternal damnation against a moment of pleasure?
If heaven is eternal, what is to keep one from getting bored? IMO heaven has to be another concept that is so overwhelming that it too is beyond the ability of humans to understand.
What if heaven has infinite colors, tastes, sounds, musical notes, experiences, worlds to explore, etc, etc all in an environment of total safety, peace, love, and adoration for our Creator?
What must it be like to actually communicate with our Creator?
What if the celestial body (or what passes for a body) as one would expect can do all things, is exempt from injury, sickness, or pain and can do all things?
What if the ability to do all things is granted to everybody?
What if everyone finds love and understanding for each other?
What if things only get better with time?
These questions I ponder and obviously have no clue as to the answers.
My Dad was a jet pilot, my Mom his co-pilot, and I have always nurtured the feeling that they are now experiencing an existence of infinite worlds in which to visit, stay as long as they wish, and then move on to the next world to experience the blessings and love granted upon them by the Creator.
Now this view of heaven may be totally aghast to some and their view is totally opposite which leads one to wonder if each of us will have our own heaven, designed to maximize our eternal passage and relationship to God.
When one returns from this type of thinking to the real world that we each live in today, the success or failure of an investment seems so paltry as to be laughable, the anger at a body of people intent on trying to make that investment go belly up embarrassing, and the expectations of wealth should the investment come to pass to be highly financially rewarding seeming so self-serving.
But should it fail, we will all find some way to move forward, though for many it will be a hard road if far too many resources are invested here, and if it succeeds wildly, will many of us use our blessings in ways that serve anybody other than just ourselves?
This post may be used by some as an example they show others of comic relief by a goofy dreamer, but I am sure we all have pondered often about where we are going and if we are preparing our way for a happy journey or just hoping things fall into place without much personal input.
We have a long weekend not to just enjoy ourselves, but to reflect on the meaning of it all and to reflect on whether we are trying to make a difference here in this life to enable a future encompassing an eternity (there's that darned incomprehensible concept again) of goodness and grace.
