So while you noted rising from ashes yesterday, I’ll note today sadness about Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, which I spent a few hours visiting in 2015. What a tremendous loss of culture, both religious and historical. Horrendous. One caveat not mentioned much was that the while the spiral spire that burned down is lost, it held many statues. They were recently removed for the reconstruction. They all survived. So that steeple may be lost, but what we admired when I visited was all those adorning statues on it. They didn’t burn, since they were recently removed. Rise up, Notre Dame and of course in a different way Gnbt.
