Yes Golf you are right. Ted does seem a consummate pessimist and doubter in many of his posts on most companies, but he will make the argument that he is playing a good DD devils advocate.
His argument is a valid one, however, following it would then lead to Ok, why didn't wmt beat amzn, why yhoo didn't beat goog, myspc vs fb etc. Of course sometimes it does happen. Will the patent prove a strong barrier to entry along with SC analytics software and Rory and the team
Startups get bought out or partnered with all of the time instead of competed against. I always wonder what the secret sauce is. I am down bigtime like everyone else so starting to worry. Just normal I guess.
