I believe this may answer those questions, though it may not be the BEST answer. From the FEB ANDI blog "ANDI MOBILE CELLPHONE QUESTIONS ANSWERED:
So bare with me because my brain is fried today and my internal computing power is running on fumes:
-So far ANDI mobile phones are for wholesale.
-All ANDI mobile phones from this point have come from Utopya
-ANDI is still looking for a well priced phone that they can sell on an individual basis
What does this mean? I believe it is as simply stated:
-The phones they have are for WHOLESALE ONLY.
Why can't they go to Utopya for individual sale phones?
- Perhaps because the phones we have seen are either prototypes, they simply don't have in inventory as of yet, OR, they can't get the price low enough to sell individually. (I'm sure people with more experience in the business could give better reasons as well.)
Also, remember in another blog post by ANDI: They are waiting on the ANDI Mobile wireless service to kick in before they move on with the individual cell sales. They stated it would save them tens of thousands of dollars in inventory costs.
Before the resident bashers chime in: I realize their could be more nefarious reasons as to WHY. I'm simply going off what ANDI has posted thus far.
I apologize in advance if anything I stated is incorrect. Like I said, my brain is fried today. Please correct any mistakes you see.
