CHANTILLY, Va., April 09, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- True Athlete Performance (TrueAP), a pioneer in youth sports training, is celebrating ten years serving Northern Virginia and Maryland. True Athlete Performance has helped athletes from the age of 8 on through to the pro level improve their athletic performance while simultaneously learning life-long skills, including goal setting and developing a higher level of self-confidence.

TrueAP, perhaps best known for its extensive work with high school teams, was started by veteran athletic trainer Rob Rose in 2009 after working onsite with the football programs at four area high schools: Westfield (Chantilly, VA); Stone Bridge (Ashburn, VA); Linganore (Frederick, MD); and Middletown (Middletown, MD). “At the time, coaches were working hard to improve athletes’ strength and power, but no one was truly working with athletes on their movement skills,” said Rose, Founder and President. “We bridge that gap, working on the field or court with the entire team to improve speed, agility, quickness and overall efficiency and precision in movement. There’s also a team unity component from this style of training that no doubt positively impacts a team’s overall performance.”

TrueAP now annually trains more than 4,500 athletes from 140 area sports teams, spanning a variety of sports, including: football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, baseball and softball. “We were fortunate in the beginning to be trusted by some of the best football programs in Northern Virginia and Maryland,” said Josh Daniels , Vice-President of TrueAP. “They saw impressive results in performance and athleticism, and those results and relationships helped us grow to where we are today.”

“Since 2009, TrueAP has been an integral part of our summer speed and conditioning program by providing the latest and greatest best practices available in explosive speed development,” said Kevin Lynott, Former Head Football Coach and 3-time State Champion at Middletown High School. “TrueAP’s highly trained professional coaches are knowledgeable in the latest research and development with regards to speed explosive movements, giving the athletic teams they work with the winning edge.”

The field of strength and performance training has certainly evolved since 2009. “When we first began, there weren’t very many programs anywhere in the country doing what we’re doing,” said Rose. “There was definitely a need, and it has now evolved to a point where parents and coaches alike are seeing the necessity for this style of training for their athletes’ maximized ability and success in their given sport.”

Adult training is also available in individual and small group training formats , as well as bootcamp programs . While the majority of athlete training is conducted onsite with teams at area schools, TrueAP also conducts specialized youth and adult individual, semi-private, group and team training programs from five locations: The NZone (Chantilly, VA); The Frederick Volleyball Club (Frederick, MD); Simpson Middle School (Leesburg, VA); Olympus Gym (Purcellville, VA); and Hagerstown Sports Club and Fitness (Hagerstown, MD).

What’s next for TrueAP? “We have worked hard to expand our reach through our online strength and conditioning software,” said Daniels. “Through the online platform, we can share our knowledge, skills, and tools to help coaches track, adapt, and evolve their strength and conditioning programs. It has grown to be an incredible resource for coaches and athletic programs in and outside of our immediate geographical area.” To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, TrueAP is offering 50% off group sports performance training classes.
