I try to be aware of my biases... It is very common for instance to be unable to see when you are wrong, to admit that past choices were not good and it can be hard to change course. So I stop and wonder: my timing was definitely not good, in hindsight, but was my DD without merit? Are there things i refuse to see?
I cannot avoid cognitive biases but I can look at some facts: we have a stellar board, we have solid and growing revenue and cash flow, we have top tier investors willing to invest in our company... At a lower price than expected, indeed, but if these cold blooded financiers (who certainly did not "fall in love" with the company and do not need to "justify" their past choices with it) are okay with this wager, I think I can be too.
Am I certain this will eventually pay off? Heck no, but then again, what is sure in life except taxes and death ^^
