The social contract in a society like most Europea

Ask most people in those countries and they’ll tell you they love the system. That’s why the metrics (also see: facts) I posted earlier are true. Norway was the example I used bc they crush America in every metric. Longer life spans, for starters.
In the U.S. people pay high taxes and get very little. So then they have to dip into their take-home pay to make up the difference, eg healthcare, education, childcare, etc.
Take healthcare, I pay $800 per month for my family and it’s garbage. $7500 deductible. In a country like Norway, Canada, UK, Germany, etc. if you raised my taxes to fund universal healthcare they wouldn’t go up by $800.
So you may pay less taxes upfront but ultimately you’re worse off.
It’s simple math and every other developed country has figured it out.
Even conservatives in the UK consider the NHS something to be proud of and those same countries are appalled by our system.
Now stop sucking me back in. I politely bowed out bc you’re not convincing me and I’m not convincing you. But enough with the patronization. It’s uncouth to say the least.
