statoftheday trader. As I have stated on this board many times, I do not believe that it is a matter of $TMPS bidding for a particular previous ongoing contract - as awarded to Omega - in competition with them.
There are huge shortfalls currently - and for the foreseeable future - with the provision of air -to air refueling to all arms of the US military - particularly to probe-and-drogue receiver aircraft as used by the USN /USMC and UK aircraft permanently deployed to the US (such as the F-35Bs currently part of the Joint USMC / RAF / RN trials / testing / training fleet). There is more than enough work for any contractor with suitable aircraft that can meet the readiness requirement at an acceptable cost (all contractors will be cheaper than any military asset anyway).
What I believe $TMPS would have done is make an unsolicited bid to provide additional capability over and above that provided by Omega - both companies fleets combined can only provide a drop in the ocean - no pun intended - on the non-war zone refueling requirements of the USN / USMC + US-based UK F-35Bs. There has clearly been ongoing discussions over timescales - to enable recruiting aircrew and groundcrew and moving the aircraft fleet to the USA - and cost.
Also I believe moving their Company HQ and Main Operating Base in late-2018 to be near to NAS Oceana was part of their overall strategy.
Official notification of DoD contracts awarded are published daily after 1700 hours EST here. It's just a matter of checking daily to get the first official confirmation of a contract award:
