DEERFIELD, Ill., April 03, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RTI Surgical Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: RTIX), a global surgical implant company, is the Platinum Partner at the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery’s 2019 Annual Meeting (ISASS19) taking place April 3-5, 2019, in Anaheim, California.
“We are proud to be the Platinum Partner at ISASS19 and to share more about our differentiated novel spine portfolio, including the coflex ® Interlaminar Stabilization ® device and the SImmetry ® Sacroiliac Joint Fusion System,” said Camille Farhat, President and CEO, RTI Surgical. “RTI has built an increasingly differentiated spine portfolio, and with it we are increasing our focus on providing training and support for surgeons, expanding our body of clinical evidence supporting the efficacy of our implants and improving patient access.”
RTI will showcase its novel spine portfolio at Booth 326. The coflex device is a differentiated, minimally-invasive, motion-preserving stabilization implant that is FDA PMA-approved for the treatment of moderate to severe lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS), inserted directly after a surgical decompression. The SImmetry System is a minimally-invasive surgical solution that uses proprietary decortication technology, bone graft and threaded fixation to facilitate bone fusion, providing an opportunity for long-term pain relief.
On April 3, from noon to 1:30 p.m. PDT in Room 263A, RTI will host a lunch workshop, “Growing Your Spine Practice with Novel Spine Therapies in the Digital Age.” The workshop will feature speakers Dr. Andrew Fox, a neurosurgeon based in Los Angeles, and Dr. Donald Kucharzyk, an orthopedic spine surgeon based in Crown Point, Indiana.
“Now that the data and technology exist to better identify and treat SI joint pain in patients, it’s critical we continue to educate surgeons how to recognize the condition and the source of the problem,” said Dr. Kucharzyk. “The SI joint is the ‘great mimicker,’ often being confused with a herniated disc and other lower back problems. I’m looking forward to the lunch workshop with RTI and sharing my experiences and resources with surgeons to help create better referral paths to treat more potential patients.”
