i am truly sorry for you friends, but this is an exception, not the norm.
Under ACA, the max a family has to pay out of pocket is ~15K (much less than that if you are poor). If you are on a Medicare plan, it is closer to $6.5K. Most employer plans are MUCH richer than this.
