Feldman Automotive Group (16 dealerships, $918 million 2018 revenue) just dropped $2.5 million to partner with The PEERS Foundation. Peers will conduct 40 events at high schools in Michigan and Ohio using a distracted driving simulator. The kick off begins on April 8th at Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet dealership in Columbus. This is not the first time Feldman AG did something regarding distracted driving.
Three take-aways from the article:
1st, Feldman didn’t begin their campaign on April 1st; not even in the first week. So, give private label #2 time to begin their campaign. We were not told it was to begin on April 1st. We were told the campaign is EXPECTED to begin in the first week of April.
2nd, Our private label kicks off in April and then continues indefinitely. It’s not a one-off like many of the programs held in April. Once April is over it’s back to normal for others until next April; not so with our private label
3rd, If Feldman Automotive Group and Mark Wahlberg are strong advocates fighting distracted driving and spending big money to do so; then why do we not have Feldman signed to a contract.
Granted they are a small group in comparison to others we’ve signed but imagine the possibilities that could result from signing with a growing dealer group that involves Mark Wahlberg, who happens to be friends with Steve Kiefer, the vice president of global purchasing and supply chain management at General Motors; who started the Kiefer Foundation because his son was killed by a distracted driver.
