That January was a new note. The June 26th note become convertible 6 months later, first payment on December 27th, and each month on the 26th-28th after, see quote below. I trade many otc stocks and can spot these note being converted from years of watching and learning. They put a MM, maybe vndm or cfgn on the bid for support and another mm on the ask at 2500 shares to sell. Then the shares are sold in blocks randomly through the day. Alps is the MM on the ask selling, they will move the ask up or down depending on volume. Alps and vndm showed up right when these conversions started, was not there before, so that is how I know they are using them. Paulson investors use NITE in the past, I suspect the TA that allows shares to be sold directly routes through NITE, so it shows up when any of the Paulson people sell directly from the TA. Anyway, someone hits the ask enough they move ask price up, if not, they sell these blocks to the bid, dropping randomly, until their monthly allotment is gone. If you are asking why is someone selling at 47c, that is crazy, then it was probably them. Also, they never sell into vndm, but if someone else sells into that bid support, vndm in this case, then they usually start dropping big blocks on the bid. I’ve picked up many of cheap otc shares in other stocks waiting for that to happen, putting my big bids a few pennies below vmdm. I’m not sure why they do it, but it is very common, which looks like happened around 3pm today.
With other stock, I usually jump in right when the conversion is done, but most of those are toxic unlike these notes, which is monthly payments over 24 months here. For example I just bought 2M drng at .0011 yesterday, convertible note, down from over 1c, when the conversation stops, I’m looking for a double at least. Win some lose some, sometimes it bounces back over 1c quickly and I get a 10x bagger in 1 week. Another Gmer, the last note just finished, so I am buying 500k under 1c, expecting a bounce to 4c or 5c with the next news hopefully in April or May. The trick is to catch the final convertible shares being sold, knowing the signs the conversion is done from watching l2, reading financials for note conversion dates and, looking at o/s increases, counting after market t-trades, then usually a bounce after they finish, at least temporarily until the next note starts converting. Also it helps to know their conversion price, because they usually never sell below that price, but might sell all the way down to that price. Sometimes they buy back up 10% in share price, which signals other MM algorithms to start buying, increasing volume, so they can sell more into the higher volume. It is possible the big volume spike here two weeks ago was from that.
