A few thoughts from yesterday’s shareholder lett

When discussing meetings with urgent care companies Berman wrote, “After that meeting our board will decide what is needed to move this concept forward”. I find that interesting because he rarely mentions the board of directors. There was something reassuring about seeing the mention of the board. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s comforting to know there are more individuals involved in the decision-making process other than the CEO, or that shareholders know they have more people to hold accountable and to contact if matters go south on investors.
Not once did Berman mention April being Distracted Driving Month. To me that was a missed opportunity for a company that offers a distracted driving solution; the company’s primary source of revenue. If the 2nd private label company plans to coordinate the launch of their product with Distracted Driving Month, then say so. Is ONCI’s upcoming Facebook and Instagram campaigns centered around Distracted Driving Month?
Only one sentence was dedicated to distracted driving, “Distracted driving is an epidemic in the world and is only getting bigger”. With Distracted Driving Month only one week away more could have been said.
A simple short paragraph discussing the deaths and injuries caused by distracted driving and the cost to consumers from higher auto insurance premiums, and how ONCI/Cogosense offer the best products to address this issue could have been included in the shareholder letter.
I think it’s important for Berman to recognize that these shareholder letters need to be written in a manner that answer questions for current shareholders and at the same time bring a level of enthusiasm to attract new investors. He just seems to fall a little short on both. Just my opinion.
