A little true story. My youngest daughter works for a small startup and travels a bit. Flying into Phl airport the other day she took a "Lyft" from the airport to her place in Center City - about a 20 minutes ride that's mostly highway. She noticed that her driver was on Instagram and asked him to get off and pay attention to the road. He sorta yelled back at her "1 minute" and she told him to stop the car and let her out about 2 miles from her place. He refused and continued into Center City. She was smart enough to have him drop her off a block or so from her place. When she got in she called into Lyft and refused to do an online survey to report her problem and instead spoke with a "Regional Manager" and reported him. Lyft fired the driver immediately.
If Lyft and Uber feels that strongly about customer safety, they should sign with us and make it a prerequisite for employment. I'm sure proof of insurance is required.
