This all is very interesting and I believe that more studies will be done in the future with Alzheimer Disease -( AD ) and CCR5 inhibitors
as they doing now with stroke.
Effect of CCR5 is Impairment of memory and synaptic plasticity .
Synaptic plasticity is one of the important neurochemical foundations of learning and memory.
In rodents study suggest that CCR5/CCL3 pathway contributes to pathological processes in AD model.
Some of negative effects reversed by CCR5 antagonist , improvement was noticed after Maraviroc was given.
It is hard to believe that 5 years ago I didn't know what CCR5 is...
now it is all over in so many diseases ...
