Another thought I had was that by delaying the announcement for 3 full months meant we were foregoing almost 4,000 potential sales over that period. However, there may be a way to recover those sales.
Most new cars sold include free oil changes for the first 1 - 4 services. That would be an excellent opportunity to sell & install our DD apps. And, not only would this dealer have a chance to sell to all cars purchased over the last 3 months, he is probably servicing cars he sold over the last few years - especially considering new car warranties and extended car service contracts. He is probably also servicing cars that were bought at other dealerships.
If this dealership puts a stake in the ground to save lives, others will almost have to follow suit to compete. I think we can all agree that the car industry is very competitive. Is this what Steve meant when he said he felt the first sale/deal was paramount and then "others would fall"?
