I also have e-trade and I've had the opportunity to critique the difference between the two with the symbol changes and RS. I have to say, IB has far outperformed etrade in every facet including same day RS resolution of my shares and symbol upsates. IB has sent me official corporate notices regarding RS and symbol change ahead of time as well. The software is faster and without glitches too. I highly recommend
