Top Obama White House Lawyer Made False Statements
Post# of 65629
It seems as though there are new reports of Democratic corruption with each passing week.
New updates from The Daily Caller News Foundation confirm that Greg Craig, the former general counsel under the Obama administration, intentionally misled the Department of Justice about his employment under the Ukranian government.
Craig worked as a lead partner for the Skadden Arps law firm for Ukraine starting in 2012. Moreover, Craig’s employment under the Ukrainian government was underway during a partnership with Paul Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign manager.
However, the former general counsel’s work has now become a subject of intrigue in the ongoing Russia investigation headed by Robert Mueller.
According to the Justice Department, Craig gave “false and misleading statements” about his aforementioned employment.
Therefore, he is now facing a $4.6 million dollar fine and retroactive registration with the Department of Justice as a Ukrainian foreign agent.
The Justice Department issued the following statement about Craig’s dishonest statements:
“In both written and oral responses to the FARA Unit between February 6, 2013, and October 11, 2013, Skadden, in reliance on the lead partner, made false and misleading statements including, among other things, that Skadden provided a copy of the Report only in response to requests from the media and spoke to the media to correct misinformation about the report that the media was already reporting.”
As reports of Craig’s legal issues make the press, Craig has indirectly implied that investigations of his former work may be politically motivated.
“We leave to others the question of whether this prosecution was politically motivated. Our assignment was to look at the evidence in the record and determine whether the trial was fair.”
At this time, whether or not Greg Craig will face additional legal consequences for his actions remains unknown.
