Dawg, With all due respect, I believe you are

With all due respect, I believe you are missing the point all together. You are making the assumption that the belief for the need of the audit is solely for the purpose of legitimizing the CEO to the IHUB bashers. That could not be farther from the point. For argument sake, remove the IHUB bashers from the equation. With that removed, it still does not change the basis of the argument for the need of the audit.
For me, the audit is not an island unto itself, but is part of the bigger picture and goes hand in hand with all the points you and others have expressed. It acts as an added catalyst for them by giving the pps extra impact when those catalyst are activated. Again, had the audit not been announced/promised until completed, it would not now be an issue. At what point does, cost/expenditures, revenues, collections, and etc, replace a persons word or their character? The sign of a great leader is not that they do not make mistakes, it is in how they rectify those mistakes.
It may well be that this is an issue that many will have to agree to disagree and just let it play out. We may never really know either way. But I truly do appreciate the opinions and debate regarding this issue. Here's hoping the best for us all.
