First let me say that Vit B12 is more difficult to inject , it is IM so must be given deeper and by professional.
---As to the injections , SC is the most convenient , and once a week especially , every patient with diabetes on Insulin will dream about it ,
yes little more expensive then the tabl in HIV ,but cant be that important , he is talking about combo , and those tabl gave many patients serious side effects and many developed resistant HIV ,
Those tabl were saving many life's for many years , but now time for a better medicine , imo..
---Safety issue , I believe that FDA knows by now it should not be a problem , but FDA also need to protect itself against malpractice ...imo
---Yes 11 Bill for HIV mono and combo is a reasonable estimate every year , and this is USA only ,
we have many , many patients with HIV drug resistance around the world now ,and treatment of this patients collateral diseases takes many times of that..
and treatment of side effects of treatment with HAART , including Maraviroc , it takes much more than that.
Maybe someone good in computer will do DD how much yearly it takes in USA only to treat side effects of HAART , it must be an interesting number...IMO.
