There are three considerations when it comes to sweeteners: taste, cost and health.
The problem with beet sugar is that it is, wait for it, a sugar. It has a moderately high glycemic index of 64, which means it comes with many of the problems associated with fructose consumption,
There is a class of sweeteners called sugar alcohols that taste great and have a glycemic index of 0/1. Erithritol is one. And then there is stevia, which I don't believe is a sugar alcohol but has a glycemic index of zero. The issue here is cost. Hopefully management will figure out a way to use these sweeteners which, if not exactly good for you, are definitely not bad for you as other, more familiar sweeteners are.
