It very could be that VERB NEEDED to form a triangle with Getty, to facilitate the integration with these other large partners that already use Getty, and who would not want taggXXX to limit their content, by not having a license agreement. Of course that would intrinsically extend VERB's arm on all other fronts collaterally.
