The nasal spray and the tablet while containing the same medical ingredients will differ in one huge way....
That is the delivery system...While we know a sublingual tablet gets into the bloodstream pretty quick,( not as quick as smoking a joint) when applied through the nasal membrane it enters the bloodstream even quicker...as it has direct access to the olfactory system and a quick route into the CNS.
THis is an important point because where the central nervous system is concerned (CNS), the quicker you can have a measured dose enter the bloodstream the quicker the patient can get relief...for example form the awful pain from a disease like fibromyalgia...
Part of the study is comparing the 2 delivery systems. Some patients may like the idea of a tablet under the tongue more so than a spray in the nose.
