bSafeMobile™ from Cogosense is software for smartphones and tabletsthat detects driving state and automatically puts the device inSafe Mode while driving. In Safe Mode, a curtain screen blocksaccess to the keyboard and screen and silences notifications andalerts – including incoming calls, texts and emails. bSafeMobileuses an OBD-2 plug in your vehicle, and additionally the GPS andaccelerometer on the Android device to provide feedback on drivingbehavior. Feedback is provided to young drivers and familiesthrough on‑device reporting of safety scores, infractions andevents. Safety reports are only visible when not driving.Administration controls and reporting for drivers are accessiblethrough a Web-based parent portal. The administration portalprovides access to reports and safety scores, set up of emailnotifications when specified events occur, maps showing thelocation, time and type of reportable events, and configurablefeatures: Handsfree override: If enabled, handsfree mode detectswhether a wired or Bluetooth headset is attached and permitshandsfree use of the device. Whitelisting: Specific numbers can bepermitted to ring through the curtain screen. Active period: ThebSafeMobile app can be made active only at certain times of day anddays of the week. Passenger override: If enabled, a button appearson the curtain screen, allowing a passenger to self-certify as notdriving and override Safe Mode. bSafeMobile declares the use of theDevice Administrator permission. The bSafeMobile application doesnot use the functionality enabled by this permission and does notregister as a device administrator app. This unnecessary permissionwill be removed in the next regular release of bSafeMobile
