With all sincere respect, if you do not understand

Maybe I am just old school and find value in the belief that a man is only as good as his word, but there was a time when, regardless of how foul a person they were in their private lives; a positive public image was important and could be career success or suicide. You did not hear, or was very rare that executives, or for that matter, public officials, publicly using foul language or actions as image was everything. If this makes me out dated, not in touch, whatever the euphemism, I will respond with a “Thank You, proud to be so”, as I expect better from both.
I am always amused when one states that if you do not like it, sell your shares and buy another ticker. Based on that theory, we should not try to change political or social situations or views. If you don’t like a political position, move to another country, don’t make an effort to enact change or policy. I’m sorry, that response just does not cut it.
You are correct that Steve, and for that matter any Ceo, may have a visibility that is different from ours. That is why it so important that the Ceo communicates to his/her investors as best as possible and acts in the best interest of the company and its share holders/investors, not personal vendettas. If it gets to be that bad for a CEO, he/she then needs to take legal action or maybe that is not the role for them and their particular personality.
Yes, I want a CEO that can take on a fight, but the right fight and for the right reasons that are in the best interest of the company and its investors. IHUB bashers are not the right cause, only adding fuel to the fire.
Because one may not agree with corporate or CEOs’ certain action or actions, does not by its nature make them a basher any more than making a positive statement makes a person a pumper. I do not expect a CEO to be perfect, but I do have expectations for the CEO to act like one and not allow him or her self to be lowered to the level of that which despises them. If the CEO cannot rise above it, not allowing their personal interest to be served over the good of the company/investors, how then do we garner faith that the CEO will do that which is best in other areas of the company/investors rather than for self-serving interests.
I believe that SB has the skills needed to make those great sales, I also believe that he can be a good CEO, but needs to learn that as a CEO, he is going to attract protractors regardless of his actions and decisions. If he can learn to harness his temper and hurt feelings, refraining from public retaliations and refine his communications ability, he can then lead as well as he can sell.
I still believe that Churchill said it best and to this day still applies:
“Tact is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.”
― Winston Churchill
If Steve can master this, he would be unstoppable.
