I don't believe a buyout is likely. I believe a partnership is far more likely. It gives IPIX a chance to prove higher value of the drugs and allows pharma to lock down the drugs with significantly less upfront risk.
Those numbers are where I think a buyout would be. They would be lower than what IPIX wants and significantly more risk than BP wants. That is why partnership is most likely.
Where have you ever seen a buyout for 15-30x a company's market cap? They would just start buying stock instead of paying numbers that high.
Current market cap does matter in buyout negotiations.
