I don't think Discover is into seeing anyone as a good or bad bet much into the future, they just want money for their loan. If company produced something now, I'm sure they wouldn't be upset about that, but since they have not, it's time for Discover to start cashing out and that is what they're doing.
They have the leverage of $$$, they came, they gave and they're taking now, because in 8 months company's SP continued its down spiral, that I'm sure didn't give Discover much confidence in the Company, instead it might have accelerated their exit (Baruch trigger?).
I'm sure Discover looked at shareholder sentiment towards the company (forums, comments in financial sections) and that didn't look great either and I'm sure they don't see much more than what we, investors see, so there shouldn't be any surprises why Discover is bailing, as in short-term, the outlook is bleak.
