SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 11, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cambrios Film Solutions Corporation, the world leader in SNW technology and owner of the most comprehensive portfolio of SNW related patents, filed a petition requesting an inter partes review (IPR) of C3Nano’s core US Patent 9,183,968 with the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board on February 1, 2019.
The petition alleges that the claims in C3Nano’s ‘968 patent are invalid and challenges C3Nano’s assertion that its “fusion technology” is not covered by existing prior art. Cambrios argues in its petition that SNW transparent conductive films exceeding the electrical and optical performance described in the ‘968 were reduced to practice, commercially available, and integrated into display products sold worldwide years prior to the C3Nano filing of the ‘968 patent. This proceeding is part of an ongoing global effort in China and the United States by Cambrios to defend its portfolio of SNW related patents and to challenge the validity of patents owned by other market participants that claim old and previously known technology.
