We've always logically assumed that the Oddesey was a rebranded phone, with Utopya's touch added to it. I thought he was simply referencing the production run from the manufacturer, not the Oddesey itself, if that makes sense. In other words, the Umidigi, or whatever shell the Utopya phone was based on, which I'm certain was mass produced by the manufacturer, had reached the end of it's run as they, the manufacturer, phase out old configurations, and replace with new hardware. I never thought he was referring to a mad production of Utopya phones, rather the actual shell from the factory.
