Amazon pulls items from India site
Updated on Linkedin 4 hours ago
Amazon pulled hundreds of thousands of products from its platform in India under a rule preventing sales by merchants affiliated with the e-commerce giant on its own site. The new rule, which also applies to rival Flipkart, is intended to force the companies to stop selling products themselves in favor of independent merchants, like eBay. It's expected to result in fewer and more expensive items on the platforms.

What a blow! As many as 400,000 items, which approx account for one-third of Amazon’s estimated $6Bn in annual sales in India, would be affected. Although, massive win for the local Indian traders.
