Uh no, people were for smart fencing and more comprehensive immigration reform.
And you conveniently overlook that from the time he was sworn in through this past Dec he had the House and enough of the Senate to get votes for a wall that he told YOU Mexico would pay for.
I don't recall McConnell pushing such.
Now most of the polls show lack of majority support for it.
So how would that be a 'win'? The gov shutdown was a clear loss for Trump and the GOP.
