The verdict is in on Mueller’s probe: Not even a

It seems as though most Americans, whether they like Donald Trump or not, have lost faith in Robert Mueller’s probe into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian operatives.
According to a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll, a mere 24 percent of Americans expressed a great deal of faith in the investigation.
Mueller’s Support Waning.
There was a time when more than 50 percent of those surveyed supported impeachment proceedings against President Trump — but that figure has changed rather significantly.
In this most recent poll, only 40 percent supported impeachment.
Moreover, an impressive 55 percent of Americans were adamantly against impeachment proceedings.
If Democrats are losing support on these key points, what will the 2020 election look like for them?
Even as its popularity wanes, Democrats have continued to pound collusion with Russia as one of their main arguments against Trump and his administration. Numerous elected Dems have used the allegations to argue for impeachment, even.
In fact, more than a few Democrats ran on that point in 2018. But it doesn’t seem that most Americans are catching on.
Public opinion is quickly starting to switch, as Mueller has been accused of using unfair practices during his investigation. It has gotten so bad, in fact, that the percentage of both independents and Democrats who think the report itself will treat Trump unfairly is growing at an alarming rate.
And Mueller has nobody but himself to blame for this.
His investigation has been going on for two years and all he has gotten out of it, more or less, is a few indictments for people lying.
Worse, people are starting to understand that this is pretty much Mueller’s specialty.
He pummels his witnesses from all angles in an effort to confuse them — all in hopes that the witness makes a mistake on a timeline or some other small fact. What most attorneys would consider an honest mistake, Mueller uses as evidence of lying under oath and issues an indictment.
Mueller would be well-advised to wrap up this investigation now and release his report while there are still some voters that have confidence he can be fair.
If he waits much longer, he would be better served to release it as a work of fiction.
