Dirty Money ?,...The Mitch McConnell connection J

Back in May of 2017, it was reported on financial filings which revealed that several Republican politicians took donations through a Super PAC from Kremlin-connected oligarch named Len Blavatnik during the 2016 election cycle.
Mitch McConnell took the largest chunk by far, a whopping $2.5 million. Incredibly, in the year and a half since, no major news outlet outside of the Dallas Morning News has bothered to pick up the story.
Although it’s a crime to take campaign money from a foreign person or entity, these donations were technically legal because Blavatnik has dual U.S. citizenship.
But imagine being a Republican member of Congress and doing something as corrupt as taking millions of dollars in barely legal Kremlin money, during the Kremlin-funded rise of the Donald Trump campaign no less, and then stopping there. It doesn’t add up, right? McConnell almost had to have taken things further.
If the name “Blavatnik” is ringing a bell, it’s because it’s suddenly all over the front pages. Significant financial connections have been exposed between Len Blavatnik and Donald Trump’s Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin. House Democrats are using their newfound investigative power to pounce on this, because it was Mnuchin who spearheaded the recent sanctions relief on Blavatnik’s close associate, Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.
The burgeoning congressional investigation into the money trail from Blavatnik to Mnuchin is just a warm up act. Everyone paying close attention – or at least everyone reading knows that the underlying story here is the money trail from Blavatnik to Mitch McConnell . We’re one baby step away from it being McConnell’s time in the Trump-Russia barrel. House Democrats know where they’re going with this, and McConnell surely knows it. Considering how much McConnell likes to spread money around to other Republican politicians, this could blow the whole GOP-Russia thing wide open.
