I don't think the market has figured it out yet. A lot get it, but there is so much going on with nFusz, it's hard to wrap you head around so many of these products could be standalone companies.
If you are going to spend time making a gif for marketing, wouldn't you want it to be interactive? If you don't, are you just hoping the consumer remembers your 5-15 gif next time they are searching around?
