Msowid I found confirmation for what you are saying in Investopedia. It says if it is 1) a stock dividend of any size or 2) a cash dividend worth more than 25% then the ex-dividend date is the date after the payment of the dividend.
This is very important for us to clarify. If the ex-dividend date really is this Monday Jan 28, then should we expect a sell off, due to the fact that people can sell their shares for an an entire month and still get the dividend? In other words, any shares I buy today could be sold next week and I would still get the div shares on Feb 25. What will that do to the share price during February?
