A number of the competing companies have sold out in 2018 because their insiders thought it was better for them personally to cash out now. Period.
IMO the companies follow the cases, USPTO, SCOTUS... I think they realized it would be better for their personal windfalls, to sell out before paying settlements and royalties to SFOR.
Their customers will probably feel better with the new big name owners providing their security services. The new owners can leverage the products across a larger customer base.
win win win (competition's insiders, customers, new owners)
and when settlements happen, add another win to that story for the patent holders. It works for me too. Literally!
