Former Top FBI Attorney, James Baker Is Now Under Investigation for Leaking
According to Reps Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows former top FBI attorney James Baker is under investigation for leaks to the media, the New York Post is reporting:
Reps. Mark Meadows of North Carolina and Jim Jordan of Ohio — co-founders of the conservative House Freedom Caucus — revealed the probe into Baker in a letter to the Justice Department on Tuesday, CNN reported.
Baker’s private testimony to lawmakers last fall confirmed that top officials at the FBI were worried that Trump could have been working to help Russia, especially after he canned top G-Man James Comey.
Trump this week indignantly denied that he was working for Russia. …
Baker was reassigned from his role as general counsel at the FBI in 2017 by Director Chris Wray, and quit the bureau in May 2018.
There appears to be many leakers within the DOJ, FBI and other executive agencies.
It’s good to hear at least one was caught.

Baker was the subject of a leak probe in 2017, but the investigation reportedly ended that year with a decision to not charge anyone, the Washington Post reported at the time. It’s unclear if that probe is the same one referenced in Tuesday’s letter.
DOJ spokesperson Kerri Kupec said in a statement that “as a matter of policy, we don’t deny, confirm, or acknowledge the existence of investigations.”
In the Tuesday letter, Jordan and Meadows asked for an update on the criminal probe, citing a need to know the counters of the investigation to steer clear.
“As we continue our oversight and investigative work, we felt it prudent to write to you seeking an update,” they wrote. “Without being appraised of the contours of your leak investigation and Bakers’ role, we
run the risk of inadvertently interfering with your prosecutorial plans.”
