5 American Institutions Democrats Want to Abolish Now That They Have Some Power

Democrat lawmakers are trying to tear down American institutions as fast as they possibly can. They want the country to burn, almost solely based on the fact that they do not like President Trump.

Following the 2018 midterm elections, everything we feared would happen if the Democrats gained any level of power is indeed happening. The radical wing of the Party is taking over, emboldened by their victories.

No level is too low to stoop. Just take a look at the petty move recently made by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who suddenly wants to abolish the State of the Union.

She has formally asked the President to delay his address, which is scheduled for Jan. 29th, suggesting he submit his thoughts in writing instead. Last year, Democrats embarrassed themselves with their blatantly anti-American temper tantrum during the State of the Union.

That’s not the only American tradition or institution the Democrats want to get rid of. Here are five more:

The first item on this list is the most obvious. Liberals from radical socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to 2020 presidential hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand have been calling to abolish ICE.

#AbolishICE means not having an agency that incarcerates children and sexually assaults women with impunity.

It does not mean abolish deportation.

Also, I have no problem saying white supremacy has no place in this country.

It’s the GOP that struggles to say that. https://t.co/7gbXezIhu5

“So when we flip the House and flip the Senate, I think the first thing we should do is deal with the children who have been separated from their families at the border. I think we should get rid of ICE,” Gillibrand said just months before her announcement that she’d be running.
The Senate

Former Rep. John Dingell wrote an op-ed column in December calling for the Senate to be abolished and for elections to be publicly funded.

“There is a solution, however, that could gain immediate popular support: Abolish the Senate,” he wrote. “At a minimum, combine the two chambers into one, and the problem will be solved.”

The Washington Post agrees along with John Dingell that we should abolish the Senate: https://t.co/9h6kd8jnzt

The Electoral College

This one stems almost exclusively from the left’s inability to accept the results of the 2016 election, and the inability to understand that the Electoral College was put in place to prevent large pockets of the population – New York and California, for example – from deciding elections for the entire country.

House Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) introduced a pair of constitutional amendments on his party’s first day in power, one of which would abolish the Electoral College.

The Supreme Court

Alright, so this has been more of a media call than that of lawmakers, but we’re all well aware that the Democrat Party and far-left news outlets are in lockstep with their thinking.

Liberal publication ‘Vox’ had such a hard time accepting the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh that they immediately called for the Supreme Court to be abolished.

“The Court is now a blunt political instrument, used repeatedly to undermine outcomes of democratic governance — often on behalf of corporate interests,” Vox claimed, adding that “the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation has further delegitimized the Court in the public’s mind.”
The Constitution

Democrat Beto O’Rourke, a fascination only of the left, recently mulled the idea that the Constitution might need to be abandoned in today’s America.

Good story from @wpjenna on Beto.

This last bit – where he suggests we might need to ditch the Constitution? – is wild.https://t.co/E31VeDvz8s pic.twitter.com/sBxF734Fxg

“I think that’s the question of the moment: Does this still work?” O’Rourke said of the Constitution. “Can an empire like ours with military presence in over 170 countries around the globe, with trading relationships … and security agreements in every continent, can it still be managed by the same principles that were set down 230-plus years ago?”
