They’re all within the beginning band of their re-election bids, including Mitch. As bad as it is for the Federal employees who are not getting paid, It could be far worse for the GOP come elections. Knowing Trump and his tactics, he’ll keep the shutdown going for quite awhile. Long enough to turn more voters away from 2020. I certainly think so.
