majority of Americans say they believe President Trump has tried to obstruct special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, according to a new AP–NORC poll published Friday.
About 58 percent of Americans say they think the president has tried to obstruct the investigation, while 40 percent say they don't think he has.
Of those surveyed, 51 percent say that Congress should take steps to remove Trump from office if he is found to have obstructed the investigation, even it is found the president did not personally have inappropriate contacts with Russia.
The poll comes following a flurry of activity from the special counsel’s office, which as part of its investigation is looking into whether members of Trump's campaign colluded with Moscow.
