Hello everyone. Today’s announcement by MariM
Post# of 85543
Today’s announcement by MariMed that they are forming a wholly owned subsidiary called MariMed Hemp Inc. to begin growing and processing hemp is a welcome development. However, we have no reason to believe it has any direct link with Univec. At least, I am not aware of any direct link. I have speculated that Doctor Dalton may be obtaining CBD oil from MariMed through their arrangement with GenCanna, but that is only my speculation. The fact is, Dalton could be getting CBD oil from Hemp Commodity Industries or from a competitor involved in contract processing.
So what do we know? Well, not much. Rumors abound that Sativeo is bigger than we know, but I have not found confirmed evidence to that effect. In fact, South Carolina limits the size of hemp farms to acreage far below what other states allow. In 2018, South Carolina allowed 20 farmers to cultivate up to 20 acres of hemp, and in 2019 those who qualified for the original 20 acre licenses were eligible for a license to grow up to 40 acres of hemp. However, few farmers in South Carolina actually planted that full amount of acreage in 2019 or in the prior year. I suspect the reason for the low acreage has more to do with a lack of markets in that state, and because no large scale hemp processing operation exists in South Carolina.
I found a company called Blue Sky Processing LLc that intends to beginning processing in South Carolina sometime around the beginning of 2019 (so right about now), and another company called Tucker Naturals LLc out of Boston that is looking at a processing operation in the state. Other than that, we have a private farmer named David Bulick who is interested in processing his own hemp, and if successful, he may take in hemp from other farmers.
While any hemp farmer could conceivably do some kind of processing, the fact is only large scale processors are typically capable of producing high quality medical grade CBD oil. This means the oil would need to be sent elsewhere for the necessary processing. Fortunately, raw cold pressed CBD oil turns out to be the ideal product for dietary aids, and it can also be used in cosmetics.
I have looked at neighboring states with hemp processing capabilities, and neighboring states do have processing capabilities (North Carolina has a very large facility), but we do not know if Sativeo sends their hemp to any outside facility for processing.
My only reason for writing this essay is to point out that we know so very little about what these companies are up to. Keeping everything secret is a business tactic, and it can be a very effective tool. However, no knowledge of any kind can also be a huge failure.
While our group has discovered massive amounts of information, only confirmation of that data will move this company and stock forward. IMO
Maybe soon we will get some confirmation?
