Human Smuggler Crashed Into Another Vehicle, Following High-Speed Chase

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) – A man is facing multiple charges after sending officers on a high-speed chase while allegedly transporting an undocumented immigrant.
Laredo Police arrested 24-year-old Damion Michael Rodriguez in the case.
Authorities received a call on Tuesday afternoon about a possible theft at the 5700 block of San Bernardo.
When officers arrived, employees told police that the suspect was seen driving a blue Dodge Ram 1500.
Police were able to locate the vehicle a short while later which is when Rodriguez sent them on a brief car chase.
The chase came to an end when Rodriguez collided with a Ford Utility truck.
Throughout the course of the investigation, officers found out that Rodriguez was allegedly transporting undocumented immigrants.
Rodriguez was arrested and charged with theft of property, evading arrest and smuggling of persons.
