I’m just speaking from my knowledge on materials as you heat and cool them. They expand and contract. I could see different combinations of materials acting the same way. It would depend on the outer shell fabrication temperatures and whether it’s quenched or slowly cooled.

I’m not making assumptions about anything other than the possibility that someone accidentally stumble onto this characteristic during the manufacturing process of experimentation to fine tune production method.
