Re: jcr53 #51401
I am a little disappointed in our teams logistical planning for this can run.

As I stated in my 51388 post that there a lot of layers to planning a run. For the anticipation of a new run you have to "GET IN LINE" with the big boys to get your cans produced and lithographed.
My Point from my Anheuser Busch experience is Logistics planning. There are only three major canning Companies with several hundred plants throughout the country and also independents, but they all produce everything you see in cans for everybody. Their 24/7 operations are usually booked out for 2 to 3 months in advance.

As you heard Christian state that they finally got something worked out to move it down(didn't say a Month) but to weeks. So the can producing plant is now working it into their already scheduled production runs. This is great but slower than anticipated by RMHB. You have to realize that for these guys a 2 million can run is a SMALL Run.

At Houston (on an average) ONE can line produces 500,000 cans in an 8hr shift or 21,000 cases of 24pk/case, with 5 or 6 (out of 8) can lines running per shift. That's an average of 3 million cans per shift or 9 million cans per day. And this doesn't include our 4 bottle lines.
So just to give everyone a little perspective, to get a small run of 2 milllion cans Lithographed, punched out, lids made to match, (there are 3 different 12 oz can sizes) and then trucked to liquid canning facility is a major accomplishment.

I am very PROUD of our team, but hope they can get with their suppliers and maybe lock down some future production runs before they actually get the P.O.'s for them. Forecasting and scheduling the future production runs are hard but a necessity if you want to be On TOP of your game!
