Jan Brewer to Newsmax TV: Trump Won't 'Blink' on B

Former President Barack Obama was "absolutely tone deaf" to concerns about illegal immigration's myriad bad effects on the state of Arizona, former GOP Gov. Jan Brewer told Newsmax TV on Wednesday.
In an interview on "America Talks Live," Brewer said President Donald Trump was "spot-on" when he decried the flow of drugs and the increase in crimes during a prime-time speech Tuesday night from the Oval Office.
"I sort of started this fight," she said. "There was no response from the federal government [during the Obama administration]. They weren't listening to us. There was no attempt to work with us . . .
The president [Barack Obama] was absolutely tone deaf to my concerns."

According to Brewer, Trump laid out the crisis of illegal immigration during his Tuesday night speech "perfectly."
"From all those drugs come all these other problems," she said, adding, "We've got to get a handle on it. We need to get our border secure and we need a barrier."
Brewer said she does not believe Trump will back down from his demand for money for the wall and other border security measures.
"I don't think the president is going to blink . . . and he's going to solve the issue," she declared.
Congressional Democrats, she added "are playing sheer politics."
"The liberals want open borders, and they want to punch President Trump in the eye," she lamented. "I hope . . . they have some serious negotiations, and they will come up with an agreement that will satisfy both sides."
