No one is disputing that there is a 'problem'; the dispute is over the best ways to address it. A wall ignore the realities of how people are getting in......overstaying their visas is the largest component of 'illegal' by far..... and where drugs are coming through.
How about an electronic chip placed in visas of 'incoming'? It would flash an amber warning to the visa holder and to visa enforcement as expiration date nears.
No response from visa holder? Visit from ICE.
You want 'feel good', the rest of us want effectiveness, including cost effectiveness.
And the problem is nowhere near the crisis levels that your fear mongering POTUS had ginned it up to be.
