Georgia Democrat falsely claims Trump, supporters
Post# of 65629
While addressing attendees at an Atlanta NAACP event, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., attacked President Trump as an authoritarian and made an unsubstantiated claim that Trump and his supporters are not only stupid, but are dying from a variety of causes, including drug overdoses, alcoholism and liver disease.
“Americans elected an authoritarian, anti-immigrant, racist strong man to the nation’s highest office. Donald Trump and his Make America Great Again followers, who want to return America back to a time when white men and white privilege were unchallenged,” he said.
“Donald Trump supporters are older, less educated, less prosperous, and they are dying early.
Their life spans are decreasing, and many are dying from alcoholism, drug overdoses, liver disease, or simply a broken heart, caused by economic despair,” he added, offering no evidence of his claim.
The reaction on Twitter was pretty much what you’d expect.
Wrong! I'm actually pretty healthy & active. Haven't touched a drop of alcohol in 6 years…and never do drugs. Ever. But…let's ask #Hillary & #Pelosi about drinking habits.
@RepHankJohnson I am not older, I’m very educated, very prosperous with very good health. I do not drink, do drugs, have liver disease or a broken heart. I have God on my side and am very happy to call you out on your comments.
