I'm going to try and take a stab at this one. I'm 100% confident you won't absorb it, but lemme give it a shot.
The right-wing outrage machine is really distorting this: Once again, right-wing blogs are in "a frenzied uproar over a bogus report," says Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs. Not only that, but they're "hyping and distorting" it even beyond the original, exaggerated version. Wright, according to Klein, says some unnamed person made the offer to a member of his church. Even if the account is true — "a big 'if'" — neither Obama nor his campaign directly offered Wright a penny.
Here's the difference. Trump has already admitted to making the payments as a "private transaction" (his words) to protect his genital region from bad press while cheating on Melania (my words). Thus, intelligentsia can make the assumption that Trump was banging a porn star.
Obama neither admitted to, nor was there any firm proof, beyond right wing, drooling hysteria, that he made a payment. For that matter, politico fact checked it as a false claim.
Obama slammed Wright's statements to the NAACP further down the line, while Trump slammed his zipper shut after a twirl with Stormy and a $150K thank you very much.
