ONCI, how can we protect our stock from the market makers

My genuine concern is that we are not able to prevail against the market makers. I just talked to my broker who told me that some MM is putting in a stock placing bid just at the close of the day, as they did today, to close in the red, down $300.00. It happens all the time now. Is the only way to handle this to take profits constantly and not wait to be blindsided by this market maker before the price is in the red again after the close? Please, this is a sincere question, I love ONCI, and SB, and all of you shareholders too who sound like you are just as frustrated as I am. Thank you for your help on this.
